In the investigation, which followed a similar one into dodgy share dealings at Apple by the heavily-electrified tree hugger Al Gore, Disney investigators found that Pixar may have cooked its books a bit, but cleared Steve Jobs of any involvement.
Apparently, Steve had nothing to do with any employees having their stock options backdated before being acquired by Disney in a $7.4 billion deal last year.
John E Pepper Junior, chairman of the Walt Disney board repeated word for word Apple's official line on the scandal. The line is that no one who still works for Apple and Pixar, including Steve Jobs, was engaged in any intentional or deliberate acts of misconduct. The report also clears Disney-Pixar chief creative officer John Lasseter.
Both Pixar and Apple would have grave difficulties if Jobs jad been implicated as many shareholders are on board simply because he is sitting at the helm.
Inspector Knasher of the Yard is still investigating Jobs over backdating practices at both Apple and Pixar and is yet to file his report.
