A man cannot be too careful in the choice of his enemies - Oscar Wilde
MICROSOFT’S Vole-in-charge of its online and Windows businesses, Kevin Johnson is leaving the company to become chief executive at telecoms equipment maker, Juniper Networks.
The move has come at a worrying time for our old friend Microsoft, as it faces unprecedented challenges in its Windows business and still hasn’t managed to gain the online success it so desperately craves. As a result, the outfit hase decided to hive off its Windows and online-services divisions into separate bits.
Johnson was a key figure in the company’s failed attempt to takeover Yahoo? and was the driving force behind the chase to catch Google in the on-line search arena – good luck!
Although there seem to be cloudy skies ahead after Johnson hangs up his furry mitts, demure chief executive Steve Ballmer is ever the optimist. He reckons the shake-up, "will give us more agility and focus in two very competitive arenas.”
“It has been a pleasure working with Kevin, and we all wish him well in the future,” he whispered.
No immediate successor has been named for Johnson, so it is expected that Ballmer will take a more vocal approach for the time being. µ
Msr. Johnson was Pump from, Guess...i.b.m. Ah, Dump or Pump, its Metamucil Now. I. still b.m.

However, in wsj & others, johnson was one of three presidents whom ran both windows & search engines etc.. this is due to BossMan having NO Idea how its done & would drive One person truely Crazy with such mountainous task. mohammed refused. Heres bit more:

Kevin Johnson — one of Microsoft’s three presidents and the current head of PSD – is leaving the company as part of the restructuring. No date or reason for his departure was provided
You Can assume Nut Craciker, ballmer: is trying out new found Kicking Machine on Johnson. Yet, it was first reported that johnson was to stay on in half role, leading one or other parts, Not both. So Go Figure. Juniper? hummmm.
Ultie available for quick kfill in.Of Course I Can. Then Park On Top Of Ballmer, errr, I mean ballmers' parking space. Will upstart from WEBTv, throw wrench IN? Lose better HALF of Glory & Look for Ultie Solution? Well if Hardware wants to go 64+ cores & cpgp pu, its real i.b.m. game & something or someone just walked out door.
Shurely its NOT to save Money, So its personality problem thats Gonna Get You.

Ultie Solution: Switch Steve Jobs With Steve Ballmer, after all most never get past first name, anyway. Then install Ultie_Tom as CEO of Microsmart & thru Royal Decree, take back my $60 billion that wandered out door, new building or not, keep melinda in closet to director Washington Post, as Now & Give Myself $additional $100 billion. Yeah, that would work....

I wish that vondrashek would stop posting here.
Or at least I wish he could go on a course on how to use puctuation and proper sentences.
Mini-microsoft has his/her take on this at:

http://minimsft.blogspot.com/

Certainly an aptly named blog...Microsoft IS becoming more mini by the day...
"Master! Your people have walked many miles to be with You! They are weary and have not eaten!"

"It's not my fault they haven't eaten!"

"There is no food in this high mountain!"

"Well, what about the juniper bushes over there?"

"Ahhh! A miracle! A miracle! Ohh!..."

"He has made the bush fruitful by His words."

"They have brought forth juniper berries."

"Of course they've brought forth juniper berries! They're juniper bushes! What do you expect?!"

"Show us another miracle!"

"Do not tempt Him, shallow ones! Is not the miracle of the juniper bushes enough?!"

KEVIN: "I say, those are MY juniper bushes!"

"They are a gift from God!"

KEVIN: "They're all I've bloody got to eat! Uhm. I say, get off those bushes! Go on! Clear off, the lot of you. Go on!"
I always associated Juniper with Gin, mothers' ruin etc. Ah well...
The threat the Microsoft's Dominance(tm) will manifest when Google uses its on search tools to find their heads up there own _ _ _es.

The Google Mini was a great idea.

Google docs is a warmed over idea (AJAX word editor ... who woulda thunk it?). The same can be said for their mail, chat, language tools, etc etc.

What would happen if they combined all of those applications on a single host box (or something that was easily clusterable ... not a word)? Google could make money on the front end, maybe even license its software the ISVs and/or hardware vendors (Dell, who would totally jump on it) and let them workout the hardware infrastructure.

They could make money through services like anti-spam mail relay, DNSsec, High Availability Data Center fall over svcs, etc etc.

The offline abilities being built into FireFox and their AJAX and java applications, they would basicallty obviate a lot of costly remote access, content management, and deployment infrastructure that is required by a similar Microsoft infrastructure.

It doesn't have to be this hard anymore. Tell Goog to get off their butts and make this product.
