Novell and Red Hat snipe over Xen

Linux virtualisation war
Tue Aug 15 2006, 10:15
NOVELL'S CHIEF technology officer, Markus Rex has struck back over Red Hat's claims that Xen virtualisation in its Suse Linux server is half-baked.

Red Hat had claimed that Novell had included Xen virtualisation environment in its new Linux server and that this was too unstable for enterprise users.

However, Rex fumed at ZDNet hacks that Xen was Enterprise ready and he knew that because Novell was one of the main contributers.

He said that all Novell's major hardware partners such as IBM, Intel and AMD, had stood up and said: "Yes, this technology's ready, and we fully support deployments based on Xen and in combination with Suse Linux Enterprise 10".

So there. µ
