Monday, 29 August 2005, 10:49
CHIP FIRM Intel said that it will start beta testing a range of its software for Mac OS X towards the end of this year.

It said it will deliver betas for Intel compilers, and performance libraries which will speed up digital media and high performance computing applications on Mac OS X.

The compilers will support high performance Fortran and C++, assist in migration to Intel chips away from Power PC processors. The libraries it will provide will help developers build "performance sensitive" apps for Mac OS X on Intel architecture.

It's inviting developers to sign up to receive more information on its tools for Mac OS X. You do that by going to this address. You will then get an email with your instructions.

It aims to provide a complete toolset for single and multicore/multithreading application development.
