Yahoo talks to aliens

There is no intelligent life here
Thu Oct 12 2006, 08:44
THE SEARCH outfit Yahoo! is planning to beam a load of images, text and photos into space as part of a time capsule project.

A collection of material, sent in by Yahoo customers, will be beamed via a laser from the Pyramid of the Sun near Mexico City.

Quite what any aliens will make of the pictures and data they receive will be anyone's guess. We suspect that anyone who sees Yahoo punters as an example of humanity will probably want to tool up their invasion fleet as soon as they receive the message.

To make matters worse, as the messages are sent they will be projected momentarily on the side of 216-foot-tall pyramid for spectators and other Web surfers to view via a real-time, global Web broadcast.

It is enough to make an Aztec priest want to rip someone's heart out and hold it beating to the sun. More here. µ
