HP loses VP of services

Quite careless
Thu Oct 26 2006, 16:42
IT LOOKS LIKE Steve Smith, VP of Services, resigned from HP yesterday with no explanation, and with no immediate successor planned.

People on the inside describe it as another of the 'rats leaving a sinking ship', but particular phrase was not in the internal memo.

The news was broken internally by Ann Livermore in the following way. The letter was entitled 'HP Services Leadership Change'. µ

Message from Ann Livermore
EVP, Technology Solutions Group

October 25, 2006

Steve Smith has resigned from HP for personal reasons effective today. I will be acting in the HPS position. I will immediately begin the process to select a replacement as HP Services continues to be a strategic and critical business to TSG and to HP.

We thank Steve for his contributions.

Regards,

Ann
