ASUS LAPTOPS STINK. At least the firm’s new offerings do, according to its website, coming complete with a variety of different “fragrances” to appeal to consumer senses.
So far, there seem to be just four scented lappies to have a sniff at, all coming complete with their own special case design.
The first is green, called Vital and apparently has the scent of grass. Useful, we would imagine, if you’re either a Bob Marley [Prolly not that kind of grass, mon - sub ed] wannabe or if you perhaps need reminding that it’s time to mow the lawn. We haven’t been able to get a whiff of one yet, so sadly we can’t tell you if Vital is Safe For Work.
Next up, Bloom. The pretty pink, floral scented laptop every man needs. Or not. Of course, it should be a hit with the ladies or men comfortable enough with their sexuality, and who don’t mind if their laptops reeks of pot-pourri.
Asus’ next offering certainly looks a bit manlier, but the Extreme’s fragrance – perfume – sort of kills the mood. Just what perfume is it exactly? Are we talking Armani's Aqua De Gio here or Chanel no. 5?
And then last but not least, Surf: Ocean fragrance. Hmmm…. I am a PC and I smell like Feeeesh.
Personally though, we reckon that if you’re out to impress the boss, you might want to write to Asus and ask for a laptop stinking of “the sweat, blood and tears of hard work”, or a “Febreze laptop” which eliminates the stale stench of last night’s beer and doner kebab combo.
Just better hope no one smells a rat. µ

About 30 % of the population has problems with scents to one degree or another, all the way from 'that's making my nose run' to 'call 911!', so this has to be the dumbest idea ever.
IMO Asus is trying to prevent the inevitable demise of their operation by using gimmicks to sucker naive consumers. Their electronics has been documented to have countless technical issues over the past 5 of so years and things seem to be getting worse by yhe day. Quite sad when Asus at one time was the top of the heap of mobo makers from Asia.
mmmm...victory.
Quite a few people react badly to these petrochemical fragrances, especially ADHD sufferers. It's bad enough that petrochemical colorings and flavorings infest our processed foods:

Now, in addition to "air fresheners", they're going in laptops?
