INTEL POSTED increased revenues and sharply higher earnings for the second quarter, compared to the same period a year ago, after the close of trading on Tuesday.

Chipzilla announced record second quarter revenue of $9.5 billion, $150 million over Wall Street analysts' forecasts and nine per cent higher than in the prior year.

The world's largest microprocessor manufacturer's net income in the three months ended June 28 lept up 25 per cent above its earnings in last year's second quarter to $1.6 billion or 28 cents per share.

From market opening into after-hours trading, Intel's shares rose 47 cents or 2.3 per cent to $20.94. ยต
