Gun holster recall protects your masculinity

Glock! It's Uncle Mike's straps
Tue May 17 2005, 21:01
THE US CONSUMER product safety commission said that Michaels of Oregon has recalled a bunch of handgun holsters and the reason is plain enough.

According to the firm, the Kydex belt holsters for Glock guns have a problem with their retention straps and "could cause a handgun to unexpectedly discharge while being reholstered, posing a serious injury risk to consumers".

Yes, in fact there have been three reports of unexpected discharges, said the office. A cop shot himself in the leg while reholstering his gun.

It could have been worse, far worse.

Glocking-hellYou can identify the holsters because they have "Uncle Mike's by Michaels of Oregon printed on the back", and the recall is for around 8,000 of them for sizes 12, 21 and 25.

The holsters are sold through Uncle Mike's and Uncle Mike's Law Enforcement catalogues, and you can find more on the danger to your nadges and what to do about the straps by clicking over here. µ
