INQUIRER front end, back end get tweaked

Cheeky!

WE'VE MADE a few changes to the INQUIRER this morning and you'll want to know about some of them.

Our search engine, here is much improved. Rather than bung in Boolean operators, you can now enter strings of words, and search on all words or any words.

You can also search on title, content, or title and content.

At the bottom of each story page we used to have the legend "Flame Editor", which meant the old man used to get every insult and phlegm known to the world+dog. Now the individual authors of the articles will get the insults instead. Serves them right!

Thirdly, we've improved the generation of our RSS file. Our RSS feed - which by the way is at http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer.rss, now includes author and publication date.

The little favicon µ symbol should now display correctly on all INQ pages.

There are many more features in our back end, which will be invisible to our readers but in general speed up and fix features for the common good.

Many thanks to the bright lads at Xclaim Projects for the changes. There are more on the way.

Your supersoaraway INQ. Never knowingly undersoldered. µ
