Ipod Touch gets its own fridge

Anything to stop it catching fire
Tuesday, 2 September 2008, 09:07

APPLE HAS BLESSED the development of a refridgerator which is made for an Ipod.

The Gorenje fridge is an official Apple-licensed Made for Ipod refrigerator. Not only does the device provide the Ipod with a speaker and a dock, it is possible control the fridge itself using your Ipod Touch or Iphone using an application called Igorenj.

The fridge is operated from a home server that controls the appliances directly. The question is why on earth would you want your personal stereo to control your fridge? After all you do not ask your toilet to control your toaster.

According to Gismodo you can also set your Gorenje oven (yes they do all sorts of Ipod-friendly devices) to cook a type of cake by just visually selecting a recipe and clicking start. You can even get recipes straight from the server itself. Again, we ask, why? ยต

On the other hand...

"After all you do not ask your toilet to control your toaster."

I suppose one way of looking at it is the reverse. In a round-about manner, your toaster sort of controls your toilet, only with a time delay for you to digest the toast...
