Mac users are thought to be getting really excited about having Windows running on their plastic boxes.

VMware Fusion allows "users to run Mac applications seamlessly alongside PC applications on Intel-based Macs," explained Dan Chu, a veep of emerging products and markets at VMware.

Macheads can run both 32- and 64-bit operating systems on a pair of processor cores at the same time and using a wide variety of USB 2.0 devices, said Chu.

Over a quarter of a million copies of the Fusion beta have been dwoanloaded since since December 2006, the firm says.
