Sun puts Star Office on aeroplanes

Going to Singapore soon?

SUN AND SINGAPORE Airlines just did something really smart, put StarOffice on aeroplanes.

Singapore Airlines just outfitted its 777-300ERs with the full suite.

It runs on the Kris World entertainment systems, presumably with an added keyboard.

Whoever thought this up needs a pat on the head, it may make working on a plane much more widespread instead of just watching a six month old movie with all the good stuff cut out. Oh wait, that is not a good thing, but it is a nice idea for those who need it.

In any case, the devil is in the details. Will it be a decent keyboard or a chicklet nightmare with a perpetually stuck H key from the guy who spilled a rum and coke on it last week?

With any luck, this will have been sorted out before the next time you fly to Singapore, tech support is hard to reach five miles up.µ
