Pure copper stops the rot

Boffins purify and refine
Wednesday, 4 July 2007, 11:10
SCIENTISTS AT Nippon Mining and Metals have refined copper (Cu) to 99.9999999% purity, according to Nikkei.net.

The boffins used electrolysis to get the high purity. Copper wire has a purity of 99.99% while purer copper than this is used in high end audio devices.

The scientists reckon that copper to the purity they've reached won't suffer from verdigris. ยต
