MARKET RESEARCH firm DRAM Exchange said it estimates that brand names in the DRAM market grew 16.2 per cent quarter on quarter.

But supply of DRAMs in the contract market was constricted and mainstream DDR2 prices spurred the sales rise.

Korea continues to rule the roost in worldwide DRAM shipments, holding 44.7% of the market, while Taiwan has 17.8% of the market.

Samsung held 24.9% share, Hynix 19.8%, Qimonda 14.3%, Micron 11.5%, Elpida 11.2% and Nanya 6.1%. µ
