Nokia's claim is "entirely meritless" says Qualcomm

Battle over IPR isn't over
Wed Mar 21 2007, 11:08
QUALCOMM HAS described Nokia's legal move to declare Qualcomm's patents exhausted in Europe as "entirely meritless."

It claims that Nokia's accusations are demonstrably false and are inconsistent with positions Nokia itself has taken.

The dispute centres on Nokia's GSM/GPRS and EDGE subscriber products which Qualcomm claim infringe its patents.

Qualcomm points out that trials over patent infringement cases brought against Nokia in the United Kingdom and Germany are set for later this year.

Legal battles like this were probably behind Nokia's decision to stop making cdmaOne handsets. µ
