Bush campaign website hacked

Wonder what the OS was
Wed Oct 27 2004, 08:46
US PRESIDENT George W. Bush's official re-election website was hacked and down for some hours yesterday.

Visitors to www.georgewbush.com were greeted with an error message.

Campaign organisers told Reuters that the site was shut down after hackers got to it. They were not saying what the hackers actually did before the press noticed the lack of a leader's site. However one organiser hinted that it was a denial of service attack.

While Steve Jobs is advising Bush's rival John Kerry, it is not clear if the Bush web presence was being run on Microsoft software or if it was patched. ยต
