It will do so by teaming with Philips, Viewsonic and others, the firm said.
Philips will introduce the DesXscape 150DM LCD unit, while Viewsonic will introduce a 10-inch and a 15-inch Airpanel, the V110 and V150, Microsoft said.
Each has 802.11b wireless support so you can detach the monitors from their base stations and wander around the house, using touch screen technology to interface with the Interweb.
Microsoft said other firms developing smart displays include NatSemi, Benq, NEC, Samsung, Tatung, Trigem, Wistron and Wyse.
These units are the "Mira" wireless terminals Microsoft has been burbling about for quite a while, and which we saw prototypes of at the Gartner System Builders conference in Monaco, last year. ยต
