Two Oink uploaders go free

SIX MEMBERS of the music file-sharing torrent tracker Oink, have been waiting for the results of a criminal investigation for some time.

Now the BBC reports that two of the alleged offenders have been released without charge.

The police have not said why they've been released.

The other four people have been bailed pending further inquiries.

Another person under investigation has had his bail extended for a fourth time, due to what police have termed a 'highly-complex' case, which we imagine all technology cases are dubbed when coppers need to find the power button on their personal computer.

This person is suspected of conspiracy to defraud and infringement of copyright.

The IT worker was arrested as part of an Interpol investigation, involving the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) and the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). The operation was a joint collaboration between the Dutch and British forces.

Torrentfreak has been keeping an eagle eye on the situation, and is expecting further details from the remaining four.

Meanwhile many similar music sites have now formed in place of the incumbent Oink tracker. µ
