Adobe hands Flash controls to copyright holders

THE LATEST VERSION of Adobe's of Flash media software is designed to force you to watch advertisements and limit video distribution.

According to the BBC, the new software should also allow video to be played offline, whether on computers or portable devices.

Flash has been the biggest player in online video, thanks mostly to YouTube. Adobe's ability to include DRM in Flash movies will allow copyright holders to require the viewing of adverts, or restrict copying.

According to an Adobe press release those who use its software will have "better ways to deliver, monetize (sic), brand, track and protect video content" what ever that means.
