X800XT All in Wonder is a dream

LINUX DEVICES has a look at the Aeronix Instant messenger appliance. The Zipit as it is called cost only $99 and allows up to 99 concurrent AOL, Yahoo and MSN chat sessions. It includes a 90Mhz processor with 2MB flash and 16MB HDD, 802.11b connectivity and a 320x240 16-colour LCD monitor. What makes it brillant is thaat some have succeeeded in hacking it and use it like a remote control for example.

Phoronix rips the Thermaltake Tenor HTPC casing apart and shows us what the beast has inside. This desktop case has a brushed finish front bezel and three fans. The two cool blue lights might make it ressemble a flattened ET head but TT quality and price will win over.

Tuniq Tower 120 Cooler is quite intriguing type. It is 155mm high and weighs nearly 800g without a fan. It actually comes with a 120mm 9-blade fan with a fan controller. The fan might make you skeptic at first, but its performance will surely conquer more than one.

Xtremeresources checks the 2GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-5300 DDR2 memory modules. This range of memory modules can compare to other brands hgh end quite easily. The modules come with golden heat spreaders. No fancy lights here, only pure, hard and solid performance. They ran stable even at 680MHz and you don't even have to raise the voltage.

MVKtech tests the PCIe ATI All in Wonder X800XT card which promises to deliver a complete PVR, Video and 3D Exprerience on your computer. The card has already been reviewed elsewhere.

Bottom line is that it is bloody quick, doesn't cost the earth and offers a set of features that you won't find elsewhere. It is quicker than the X800XL on most benchmarks so it should be on par with the 6800GT. Off course, the X800X is crossfire compatible which means that you will be able to put two together soon.

MVKtech also has two reviews of Gaming surfaces, the Ulti-Mat Original Mousepad and the Func Industries F-Series gaming surfaces. Both of them would probably suit even the most demanding gamer. Note though that the first one needs at least a 800dpi optical sensor since it is quite slippery. µ
