Intel Nehalem heatsink pictured

Computex 2008 Kind of bulky
Friday, 6 June 2008, 06:20

IF YOU KNOW what closed doors to look behind at Computex, you will see some amazing things. The best one at the show is the top secret Nehalem heatsink.

You can see from the shocked look on the faces of the install technicians that I was not supposed to be there much less have a camera in my hand.

From there it was out the door one step ahead of security, just like the last few times. µ

Mmmm...

I have two words that come to mind when I see that picture.

Eskimo. Sandwich.

I dunno Charlie...

this looks suspiciously like the sink that Chipzilla flogged against it's first Titanic ship. Without getting a sharper pic, there's no way to be certain you got a Smack Over. Next time try breaking the ice, removing all of the shrouding and whatever pants they may be using. You can't be phased by these coolers. I can only guess that a cooler of this mammouth proportion, is a 3-phase, single block for a duo sockets pairing. No wonder they want to keep them under wraps (far and away from Roy Taylors). Remember, a successful hack will find a way to "nip IT, nip IT, nip IT in the bud"_ (or some other such barney fife). Whew! Life's too short for sweating the inconvenient truths!

Wrong picture?

I don't think laying the chip on ice is that great of an idea for cooling...lol

What's next, "adwords"?

What's with the "Tip: Click here to run a free scan for PC errors" ad at the top of every article? Is the Inq getting paid to disguise advertising as a "tip" now...?
