AMD Barcelonas trickle into the channel

SYSTEM INTEGRATORS said they were expecting some deliveries of AMD's Barcelona chips "in the next few days".

Those processors will only clock at 1.9GHz, as we reported earlier. AMD is expected to formally launch the Barcelonas on the 10th of September.

Originally, the channel was promised processors - and at higher clock speeds - in the middle of August. So if it delivers in August, it will just about smooth the feathers of customers that have been kept waiting. µ
