Opera closes phisher's net

Version 9.1 tightened up
Mon Dec 18 2006, 18:12
OPERA SOFTWARE said the real-time Fraud Protection in the new version 9.1 of its Web browser is pretty smart.

It has incorporated digital signature technology from GeoTrust and a Phishing net from PhishTank in the browser, yet still gives it away for nuffink.

According to PhishTank, the month of November saw more than 9,628 unique phishing attacks. The open access of PhishTank, and the use of PhishTank data in Opera, is intended to encourage the sharing of information and increase the chance of eliminating phishing all together, the firms said.
