Cons can't play with computer consoles

Latest cunning plan
Fri Jul 25 2008, 13:49

MOST UK PRISONERS will be banned from playing computer games and only convicts who have earned the highest level of privileges will be allowed access to games consoles such as PlayStations.

Prison Service Instruction Number 32/2008, bans prisons from spending taxpayers' money on buying hardware or computer games for inmates.

This is because last year the Government admitted spending more than £10,000 on 80 PlayStations and 15 Xboxes for young offender institutions and there was a bit of public outcry.

The directive said that all prisoners will be banned from playing 18-rated computer games from the end of September. Only inmates on the highest level of incentives and earned privileges and those at risk of suicide will be allowed to play computer games.

So the best way to make sure you're allowed play Grand Theft Auto whilst you're banged up in chokey is to either grass on your mates or try to top yourself. µ

How about hard labour?

Councils could use them to collect our rubbish ONCE A WEEK and help prevent an increase in the rat population.

Other things to do

I'm sure that they can find other petroleum product based things to do with each other.

You'll start to see Mario getting it from Bowser, while Princess watches.

Go to your room...

I gotta agree. Seriously using tax payer money to buy juvenile delinquents game consoles for while they are locked up is like telling a kid "you've been bad, now go to your room and play video games". It doesn't really work.

Electronic Games in Prison ? ! ? !

How is playing video games in prison punishment and rehabilitation? ! ? !

Don't you lose your rights when you are in prison?

This is insane!

Pah, give them jobs and teach them to cook and live as a community.

Then maybe when they get out they will have been rehabilitated and won't reoffend.

There are countries who won't let prisoners out of prison until they have a job. And if they have a job then the council has to help house them. Also, they have a supermarket in the prison they can visit only 2x a week. They must cook their own food in a shared kitchen in a "flat" of approx 10-20 inmates.

The reoffending rate is less than 1/3. That means that 2/3 of prisoners learn a skill, get a job, learn to live somewhere and share and get along. Like the rest of us do.

We should do it here, but we don't because our leaders are idiots and criminals above the law.
