Abit overclocks Extreme Edition to 5809MHz

Extremely extreme

ABIT has always been heavily into overclocking and we like its latest achievement. A chap from the firm managed to overclock Intel Pentium Extreme Edition 965 originally clocked at 3.73GHz to an awesome 5809MHz.

The chap used an AW8D-MAX board, powered with Intel i975 and an ICH7 Southbridge and managed to reach such a high clock. The company used Corsair PC6400 memory working at 5-5-5-15 at overclock time.

The chap must have used some super cooling such as Asetek Vapochill but we don't yet have the deatils.

You can find more about it here. µ

Michael Geist's *bog*?

Ah, the incidental veracity of the typo. Or is it a typo?

Do you think the move was justified?
