The denial comes in TheStreet.com, which quotes a representative as saying that Dell hasn't any plans now, nor has it announced any such plans.

AMD's ticker fluttered wildly after the analyst issued his report.

The report, from an analyst at Susquehanna Financial Group to his clients, reckoned that Dell was making a dual chip Opteron.

But maybe it's not. If we had a hot dinner for every time there was a Dell-AMD rumour, we'd be well and truly stuffed. µ
