Soltek takes on Shuttle barebones market

From Norway, with love

OUR FRIENDS in Norway that track the barebone system market say that Soltek wants to take on Shuttle in this marketplace.

Most motherboard manufacturers have cottoned on that Shuttle is very successful in the barebones arena and now some of them want a slice of that juicy cake.

Soltek has decided to make a really similar unit to Shuttle units -- at least on first sight. One of the cases has a reflective mirror surface of the case that looks very pretty. The other model is pretty humdrum, however.

Under the hood/bonnet you get an i845GE board with integrated graphics onboard and capable of dealing with DDR 333, up to 2GB. You also get a network card integrated in this nice little box, UDMA 100 controllers and space for two 5.25 inch devices and naturally the unkillable floppy disk.

The dimensions are 21.5cm x 29.5cm x 18.8 cm for the 2000 series, or 23cm for the 3000 series.

Here is where our knowledge of Norwegian stops and you can find the PC World Norway story here. µ
