Segway man moves to Apple

From the sublime to the ridiculous
Monday, 7 July 2008, 11:24

THE BRAINS behind the Segway, upright, self-balancing electric scooter has decided that he might get more career mileage by joining the Cult of Apple.

Segway’s chief technology officer Doug Field, is scooting along to join Jobs' Mob where he will be a vice president of product design at Apple.

It seems that he is fed up with being associated with a product that is too dorky, far too expensive and driven by smug twonks who people want to punch. Since he will not be experiencing much difference at Apple, we can only assume he is just worried about whether or not people actually buy the products he designs.

Maybe an iScooter might be just the sort of thing that Jobs' Mob wants to take into the 21st century. That way we will be able to save the world just by opening our car doors when people scooting past unable to hear us due to having their Coldplay up too loud. µ

Coldplay Coldplay...

Why you guys mention Coldplay for so many times but not other rock stars? Muse is very good; how about the religious U2?

RE: Coldplay Coldplay...

It's not about the "rock star", but the hype related to Ipod-loving teenagers and their musical likings.

Just You Wait

Now Apple can begin developing a hover scooter. You know they will, and even the Inq will have to grudgingly admit they all want one.

As usual you bust Apple

I am tired of you taking every opportunity to belittle Apple, Apple Produces, Macs, and All the innovative things that Apple do and others (PC copycats try to emulate.

I am not a big fan of Steve Jobs' personality but I love APPLE and their contributions to the past, present and future.

I never saw a man so overrated and underhanded as Bill Gates who was worshipped as a god upon his retirement to the do gooder scene after constantly being woomped by other companies, most notably Apple.

Give Apple the credit it deserves please.
Thanks
Roger Taylor
