Wikipedia faces wrath of Islam

Mohammed pic stirs pot
Mon Feb 11 2008, 18:32

DODGY ONLINE encyclopaedia Wikipedia has incurred the wrath of wired up muslims everywhere by printing a picture apparently depicting the prophet Mohammed, praise be upon him.

A petition claims to have amassed 132,000 signatures demanding that those wacky wiki weevils down the pic out of respect for the religion.

But, as Richard Dawkins writes eloquently in The God Delusion, quite why we should be expected to respect other people's delusions is a 21st century conundrum.

Anyhow, here's the petition, should you wish to sign it and here's the Wiki page should you wish to have a butcher's at old Mo, before he gets beheaded. µ

We stumbled across a reasonable exploration of the issues involved in this, on the American Muslim site, here.
