WHAT’S THIS then? The mighty Intel appears to have opened an online shop on ebuyer.com, selling all sorts of kit you might want.
The site is divided into desktop, mobile and servers, and on it you can buy processors, mobos, LAN cards, wireless LANs, server boards and even chassis.
Say, for example, you want a processor with this stunningly long moniker: the Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz FCPGA6 800FSB 4MB retail boxed mobile processor, Intel has four in stock at £123.38 including Her Majesty’s VAT.
We guess that Ebuyer is now Intel’s favoured channel partner, or at least that’s the cunning plan. The range of products appears more extensive than other channel partners online, as far as we can see.
We guess that when Intel says it has “four in stock”, it’s actually got a lot more sitting somewhere or other. The site is here. It's very new and shiny. µ
Why it sells AMD CPU, if it is a Intel store?
very poor marketing gimmick.

Clicking the "1U/2U Rack Mount" link gets you a page full of HP boxen. Closer examination shows that ebuyer don't seel *any* Intel servers at all, and the "Server and Workstation Boards" section doesn't list any product at all!
Nice to see an article writen by you Mike!

Hope you are doing well with your new project!

All the best to you.
Not an Intel store, just the Intel section of the Ebuyer site. I'm not sure why you think having an Intel section means it is somehow Intel selling direct.
