HDMI X1600 demand outstrips supply

HDMI MIGHT not get to your desktop as soon as you might hope.

ATI's beta cards may have already been made and Sapphire and Power Color might have prototypes prepped, but it will be some time before you get these in the shops.

Japanese customers are currently snuffling up all available supplies, as HDMI is in really big demand on the slim island. Supplies in the USA and Euroland are thinly stretched.

The biggest problem is the massive shortage of the Silicon Image chip that this card needs. We know that both companies can sell as many of these cards as they can make but they still have to wait for those chips.

We hope this will change in the weeks to come but don't expect to see them on every shelf for a while yet. ยต
