Jim Cramer says any MS-RIM deal would be berry bad

Merging on the ridiculous

US STOCK-TIPPING legend Jim Cramer is at it again, saying that Microsoft would “ruin” BlackBerry maker Research In Motion if it went for a much-rumoured merger. The self-playing video is here .

“Don't ruin RIM!,” warns Big Jim with that Ballmeresque rising inflection of his. “That's what would happen. They would ruin it.”

Luckily for CrackBerry addicts, and just like us in this spot last week, he doesn't think it's going to happen.

“RIM is a $45bn market-cap company and it's highly unlikely they'll be bought. RIM is a great company. Forget Microsoft. They are so IBM in 1988 it's frightening.”

Cramer reckons a company Microsoft should buy is Yahoo.

“Yahoo has the worst management of the Net [companies]. Microsoft would vastly improve it if they had it. Microsoft should bid $28. I don't think they'll do it because they think MSN is better than Yahoo and they can beat Yahoo.”

He also doesn't think Microsoft will buy Facebook but he still has faith in the veteran rumour that is the Ya-bay!/eHoo!/Bayoo! eBay-Yahoo combo, describing it as a “marriage made it heaven”.

Always good value, that crazy Mr Cramer. µ
