It's Geforce 6200 day on the wibbling web

Hardware Roundup News of the Screws chap plugs own site shock
Wednesday, 15 December 2004, 11:46
TODAY WILL be GeForce 6200 day around the wibblesome web, but we'll have more for you on that particular review-slew later. For now, here are some snivelling snippetts for you to cast your gaze over...

Poor old Ace of Spodes was the victim of a hack-a-tack yesterday, and he has only just got his Abode back in order. Now that it's up, however, you can take a look at his review of a tiny Shuttle system for Athlon 64.

WaveyDavey is a graphics legend, and when he speaks, everyone drops what they're doing and listens to the pearls of wisdom forthcoming. Good job, then, that he's a fairly quiet chap, but he gives us his opinions on the Radeon 9800 Mobility chip over on his 3D b-yonder page.

John Chow, in contrast, is a partying legend and we're eternally grateful for his schedule of CES parties in Vegas that we shall definitely be attending. Not content on organising parties, he's organising a must have Christmas list full of all sorts of gawksome gadgetry, here.

The News of the Screws boys have not one, but two reviews to catch up with. The first is a set of rather bland speakers that claim THX and DTS and deliver neither, here. The second is a funkdy-dunky blue aluminium case that would win the Inq award for chassis of the year, if there was one. You can see that little bouncing blue baby by clickity-clickering on this.

The chaps at PimpRig are a sentimental lot, although not sentimental enough to stop pimping out their rig to all comers, obviously. So upset were they with the news that the Athlon XP is now deader than a dead dodo, they've written a lengthy eulogy that serves as a fitting memorial to its legacy. Far more fitting than renaming it after web pr0n, anyhows. You can get all teary-eyed by having a read here.

If you haven't got enough Christmas lights already, you might be interested in some lighty-uppy memory from Crucial, sold under their enthusiast Ballistix brand. PC Stats has the low-down-light-up.

I could quite fancy a new TV for Chrimbo, and I might just be forced to smuggle one of these back with me from the US. How does a 30-inch LCD HDTV for $1400 sound to you? eCoustics is getting goggle-eyed.

When not fighting lawsuits, HardOCP has a nifty line in product reviews. For those of you who like more than just a Christmas tipple to lubricate your Christmas, how about a complete watercooling system from Danger Den? See those boys get wet and wild.

We love how women can make even the most mundane stuff seem sexy. The inimitable Rodney is back with an OCZ power supply review presented by a lovely young lady who you can ogle at here.

All of which brings our merry wibbling to an end for this morning. If you feel the need to wibble in our direction, however, you can do so at the usual address. ยต
