The first thing I saw was thin speakers called either skinny or slim speakers depending on who you ask. They should be out in a few months, mid year or so, and they sound great. On top of that, they look really good and fit almost everywhere. There was panning sound in the movie they had on, Mi3 I think, and it really had good separation. The speakers are the thin bit between the TV and the players.

The next thing is a little more interesting, Proton ran an art contest called Intermix. They gave a bunch of artists TVs and let them go. The results were quite interesting, both fronts and backs of machines were worked on. The Megaman-esqe one is by Ano from Taiwan, the other by Nanospores from LA.

Last up is the LED backlit TV we told you about during Computex. It was there and closer to production, but not fully baked yet. The colors were brighter, higher contrast, and looked noticeably better than the others TVs at the booth. There was a graining problem with all of the Proton TVs at the booth that was not there at Computex. Since it was the same with all of their TVs, I expect it was an interference problem or possibly a bad source.
I would wait to see what the final results are before making up your mind. Other manufacturers have announced LED backlit TVs also, the technology is clearly superior. Lets see what happens when you can buy one. µ
