Soltek mobo has .13 micron Celeron support

400MHz FSB... no mention of cache

OUR STORIES YESTERDAY about Intel moving the core of its Pentium 4 Celeron chips from .18 micron to .13 micron look like they might happen sooner rather than later.

Soltek has announced a motherboard which supports Pentium 4s and Celerons using the 130 nanometer (.13 micron) Northwood core.

The limiting factors on the new "Northwood" Celerons appears to be the front side bus and possibly Intel might not use the 512K cache that's possible with the cut down chips.

You can find the details of the Soltek product by going to this page.

If Soltek is preparing boards such as this, then it can only be a short time before other motherboard manufacturers come out and do the same. µ
