Suprnova torrent search resurrected

The Pirate Bay's pet project revealed
Friday, 3 August 2007, 21:32
SUPRNOVA.ORG WAS ONE of first torrent search engines and became the site that popularised the bit torrent protocol to the level of a de facto standard for downloading interesting content.

This site was located in Slovenia and started in late 2000. However, the popularity of the site caused quite a lot of legal threats, and three years ago - site was shut down.

Three years after, The Pirate Bay crew found themselves in a similar situation and, after resolving the matters from the police raid earlier this spring, the site admins announced they were working on something. And with the transfer of the domain from Sloncek, the former owner of Suprnova.org to the TPB crew, the ghost was out of the closet.

Sloncek also explained site would look exactly like it looked before, with only additions perhaps being increased functionality. Site will also be oriented towards community, not towards private individuals, like many torrent search engines around the globe.

Suprnova will be nothing more than a torrent indexer (it will not have a tracker, unlike TPB). Forums will be located at the melting pot domain of these two, Suprbay.org. The site is on track for a launch next week, much to RIAA/MPAA dismay. ยต
