Final Fantasy XIII goes on Xbox360
FINAL FANTASY XIII is no longer going to be a Sony PS3 exclusive game according to producer Yoshinori Kitase.
Kitase said that he wants to bring the game to Microsoft's Xbox 360 as an effort to “bring as much fun to as many people as possible.”
The game was famously one of the reasons for buying a Playstation, but Kitase said that the exclusivity deal needed to be dropped due to “market situation for the Xbox 360 in the U.S. and Europe.
In otherwords the PS3 is not doing as well in the US and Europe as it used to and is losing ground to the Xbox360 and Nintendo's Wii.
Kitase said that the game was too early in development to reveal a release date, although the Japanese PS3 version will first out of the starting block and then this will be localised for North America and Europe.
Straight afterwards, work will begin on the Xbox 360 version. µ

This is great news though as I'm a massive Final Fantasy fan and a 360 owner.

Now all we need is MGS on the 360 and there will be no need for me to buy a PS3.
With it being developed all this time my main concern is what has it been developed for 1st. Like has it been developed for 360 and then ported over developement time would be cut dramatically will all know this.

It's a shame Sony have not moved on to secure what we all had thought they had in the 1st place. Obviously money losses in the gaming area have effected exclusives.
How is squar going to fit all that 1080p video on a dvd? Im guessing multiple disks but how much? Im thinking 360s going to have 720p video on a couple disks and PS is going to get the real stuff! Unless squar decides have the engine render more cutscenes which is unlikely. The PS version is probably the way to go on this one
Great. While I own both a PS3 and 360, the main thing is that I couldn't care less about exclusivity anyways. 

Personally, I wish we would get to a single console world.
So does this please please PLEASE mean that they'll take it a step further and release for PC?
If you go to Amazon.com and look up FF XIII for the PS3 it is available for pre-order and says it will become available on December 13. Final Fantasy Verses is set for the same date, PS3 only.
There is no mention of it for the Crapbox 360 and their monthly fees to play online.
If it is to come out on the Crapbox it will be at later date after they port it over. This should give the 50% of them out there that are not working a chance to get them fixed.
All my friends have already kicked their 360s to the closet for a PS3.
M$ paid out the nose to get this to happen, same with some of the other games that were to be exclusives. 

M$ knows that the 360 wont stand a chance to the long haul that the ps3 will be around for so they are trying to buy into as much games sales as the posibly can. 

short term this is going to eat into the PS3 a bit, long term, as in 7 years from now when peeple are learning how to tweak the cell to new hieghts, and the x360 is tapped out. this wont really matter.

but by then M$ will be pushing xbox720 and all the poor M$ fanbois will hav to shell out for a new console.
This is great news to me. I wasn't about to drop five or six hundred dollars on a PS3 just to play this game. 
Currently the game is being developed on it's Crystal development platform, which can easily port to PS3 or XBox360. With the new SAVE to HDD feature it could be as simple as a multiple DVD install, which many of us PC guys are already familiar with.

- If it takes another 7 years to optimize the cell, sony will be screwed. The ps3 has a 10 year lifespan and it's almost 2 years old already.

And in SEVEN years, we'll be out buying the *new and improved* playstation FIVE.

I believe "13" is jinx number just prefect for Xbox 360. PS3 skip for next one. Look at DVD ROM on Xbox 360 only have 700MB Storage and PS3 have giant 25GB. Today Pioneer discovery new pattern on blue ray can go far up to 600GB. Well Sony know the trick and it is not time to blast off. Pssst! Microsoft know as screwup thing so good luck. I heard on news that will get next generation Xbox 360 system better than old one you know it's waste your money.
My opinion is that you should bring Final Fantasy 13 to the xbox 360 because there are far more people out there that have one compared to people that have a playstation 3

a CD has 700MB not a DVD a DVD is known to have up to 8.54GB so a third of blue ray, but dont forget the read speed on the blu ray drives in the ps3 are cuasing severe problems as anyone whos had to install devil may cry 4 can vouch! it takes a year!

i see this as a good move, but a predictable one, they already said that it wasnt ps3 'exclusive' a year ago, i have won severel bets thanks to this :P

i also own a ps3 and an xbox 360 so i do belive this is balanced, though i dont enjoy playing games on the ps3, just using its media centre abilities!
