Bitmicro introduces flash Ultra 320 SCSI drive

As hot as fire, as cold as ice

A FIRM has introduced a flash disk version of an Ultra 320 SCSI drive, aimed at the military, financial and other high reliability markets.

Bitmicro's E-Disk drive has a capacity of 155GB, and is 3.5-inches, as well as being compatible with a number of OSes including Windows, Linux, Solaris, OS/2, Tru64, Irix, FreeBSD, AIX and NetBSD.

The drive offers a 320MB/sec burst rate, has a 42 usec access time, and a mean time between failure of two million hours. It will also sustain shocks far better than regular drives, and temperatures of minus 40 to +85 degrees centigrade, so it will be fine if you're planning on climbing K2 or swanning around in very hot springs. µ
