Word of the Day: yarborough - hand of cards none of which is above nine - Ohmigod - I got me a yarborough
The company's chief technology officer, Kevin Kettler has been the first on the plate to praise Vista in front of her Majesty's loyal press.
He told ZDNet that businesses will upgrade to Microsoft's Vista in droves as consumers "bring their love of the next-generation operating system from home to work".
He told them he was "bullish" about Vista uptake among enterprise customers and rattled on about how Vista will figuratively bring peace in our time and a cure cancer.
Dell needs some fast sales early next year and Vista's tough hardware requirements could be a potential money spinner. But many analysts are starting to wonder if Vista will take off so quickly, and it is clear that Dell feels the need to start championing the operating system.
Kettler reading from a Volish hymn sheet claimed Vista would win over enterprises with its ability to run different versions of the operating system depending on the hardware.
He said an outfit could install a basic, less resource-intensive version to older hardware and a high-performance version with to newer hardware.
Kettler claimed that punters eager to try out the next-generation operating system's entertainment features will also drive uptake in businesses.
If they get the beast to work on their computers at home, they will want to see it in their business too, Kettler claimed.
