Cloud crosses Microsoft horizon

As London vidcast goes tits uppermost
Wed Oct 01 2008, 17:04

HEAD VOLE Steve Ballmer outlined plans to launch a Windows for cloud computing "within weeks" in London today.

A select group of 700 techies and hacks lapped up the announcement at a Technet Server and Tools event being held at the Queen Liz Hall on London's Southbank.

Meanwhile, a second-class selection of hackery, including your INQ correspondent, waiting patiently at the IP08 show to view a videocast from his Voleness, were left high and dry.

The videocast failed.

The snafu was just a tad embarrassing given that the IP08 show is aimed at telecoms professionals.

N'er mind because a Volish employee swears the company is going to have another go and beam it across later this afternoon.

Another hack reported turning up the Queen Elizabeth Hall to catch some pearls of Voledom, only to be turned away for having a computer on his person.

"It's like it was even running Linux, or something," he wailed to the INQ. ยต
