Google buys into video conferencing

G-Men riding on Marratech express
Friday, 20 April 2007, 17:15
JOHN LENNON got into trouble for saying the Beatles were bigger than Jesus so let's be careful and just say that Google is the biggest thing in computing for a very long time.

The Mountain View monster notched up a $1 billion quarter's profit, as we noted earlier, and, as we didn't note earlier, at the same time quietly picked up a Swedish video conferencing firm called Marratech.

A lot of the telco firm efforts cost a fortune and want you to download more craplets so a pure web conferencing solution would be a very nice thing, especially if Google can give it away. Come on, G-men, this is a market that's wide open so go and do your disintermediation thing. ยต
