Gamestop gives up on Zune

No one buying them
Tue May 27 2008, 10:30

US RETAILER Gamestop has decided not to bother selling Microsoft's Zune any more because no one wants it.

The company said it will continue any sales until the stocks have run out.

Gamestop has more than 5,400 stores worldwide, with around 600 new ones scheduled to be opened this year.

A SpokesVole tried to put a brave face on things saying Microsoft still had Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart, and was always looking for more retail partnerships.

It has been claimed that the Zune has about four per cent of the US market, while its rival, Apple's Ipod has 71 per cent.

When asked if the move would anger Zune customers a Gamestop employee said that he did not see why. After all, they were a nice couple. µ

Come on...

GameStop pulled out because nobody shops for MP3 players at GameStop, not because nobody wants them. They're selling fine at places people actually go to shop for them. Please stop the pointless anti-MS bias. The Zune 80 is a fantastic unit, and deserves at least SOME respect.

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
