Codeweavers offers free software

Run windows apps on Linux and OSX
Monday, 27 October 2008, 15:10

CODEWEAVERS are giving away their Crossover software which allows Linux and Mac OSX users to install certain Windows software packages without installing the Windows operating system.

The web site is currently feeling the pain of download madness but you can still grab the software and apply for a free password... for one day only.

We haven't been able to test the software at time of writing and accept no responsibility if it eats your hard drive. ยต

Site Down

The site has been down since early this morning UK time. I managed to get a code, but cannot register it.

A good way to release malware

I wonder how many people you could trick into downloading a "Run Windows apps on Mac and Linux" program that is really a hideous trojan.

Sigh not Trojan/Malwaere

Robert Carnegie this is not a trojan or malware its a commercial version of wine that lets you run windows software on mac/linux machines.

However it does not work with all windows software however but there continue to increase compatibility.
