Linus rejects new GPL licence for Linux

It is insane
Fri Jan 27 2006, 09:49
OPEN SAUCE god Linus Torvalds has rejected the new look GPL licence for his Linux operating system.

Writing on a news group here, Torvalds dismissed the new version three of licence as "crazy" although some files of the kernel might end up under the new standard.

What Linus does not like is GPL v3's big idea to require people to make their private signing keys available.

"I wouldn't do it. So I don't think the GPL v3 conversion is going to happen for the kernel, since I personally don't want to convert any of my code," he said.

He said that the Linux kernel is under the GPL version 2 and would remain so for the near future. µ
