AMD-ATI deal set to rupture north American techie-love-in

We won't love you anymore

IT IS BUT A matter of time before the great business love-in between AMD and Nvidia and Intel and ATI breaks apart.

It will take around two to three financial quarters for AMD's acquisition of ATI to really affect the business partnerships but the inevitable will happen.

A bunch of sources have confirmed that there is no business sense in Nvidia handing over its technology to key competitor ATI, in order for AMD to make it work better on AMD CPUs and chipsets. Same goes for beta AMD CPUs. Nvidia will be the last to see them. AMD wants to focus a lot on its newly acquired-chipset division, this is what excites it most.

A source also added that Intel will no longer give ATI its beta CPUs as it would be business suicide to show your key competitor where you stand with the next generation stuff.

Things will most certainly change but it will take at least two to three quarters for open warfare to really break out.

The world of IT will change one more time, but we will prevail and will learn the new rules of seduction. µ
