"Super-hacker" McKinnon fails not to get extradited

May be Guantanamo bound
Tuesday, 3 April 2007, 12:45
GARY MCKINNON, the British national who allegedly carried out the biggest military computer hack of all time, has been denied his bid to avoid extradition to the US.

Using the codename Solo, possibly in a drunken Star Wars fuelled e-rampage, he supposedly hacked into hundreds of Pentagon, Nasa, US army and airforce machines over around 18 months, back in 2001.

It's said that Gary's raids at one point brought down 300 computers at the Earle naval weapons station located in New Jersey, as well as allegedly completely taking out 2,000 Washington computers.

When McKinnon is shipped off to the US, it's entirely possible that the hacker could have to face a military tribunal and possible internment in Guantánamo Bay. If found guilty, he may be looking at a 70 year sentence. Gary still claims he was just looking for evidence of UFO activity. He said he found some too. µ
