FAVE POPSTERS OF INQ HACK Martin Veitch, The Grateful Dead, have moved from becoming rock legends with a high mortality rate, to a social networking site.

The new version of Dead.net, the fan site for Dead Heads, which is soon to be released, will be a full blown social network similar to Myspace.

Alas this will mean that you will be able to see and find out more details about your fellow Dead Heads than you ever wished to know. This will probably lead to an upturn in the sales of Phil Collins albums. According to TechCrunch the site was created on the Drupal content management platform and features extensive archives cataloging Grateful Dead history, songs, photos, memorabilia, and shows, indexed and searchable by tags.

Dead Heads can participate in forums, upload their own photos, and bookmark concerts and shows they have attended. Fans will also be treated to exclusive free mp3 show downloads.
