Hiper puts USB ports on a PSU

The excitement mounts

HIPER HAS launched a range of PSUs with USB ports shoved in the back.

This will be of significant advantage to those who don't quite have enough USB ports on their machine already.

There are four USB 2 ports which connect up to the motherboard and basically act as a back-facing hub, as well as a USB-connector port that will charge a device even when the PC itself is switched off - think of it as a power-saving passthrough.

The PSU itself, dubbed the Type R II, is rated up to 770W for GeForce 8800 GTX (single-card) and has four independent 12V rails. It also has gold plated connectors, because we all know what a difference those make in the world of dirty PC power.

Hiper invites its customers to "Get Hiperized". We're not entirely sure what that means. We can only assume it's short hand for "Get your USB devices plugged in, and charge your mobile devices too." Which isn't quite as snappy.

See the PSU here, and marvel at the attempt to make the most boring PC system component vaguely interesting. µ
