LAST WEEK, we proved that Second Life is over with the news that Playboy, the brand for tragic fiftysomething divorcees, was entering the virtual world, presumably with misted-over pixels and that-has-never-happened-to-anybody dialogue.

Today, we write the obituary for another piece of web 2.0 wibbling nonsense, Twitter.

The Guardian reports, complete with self-referential headline, that Alan Johnson, MP, is now leaving the short messages on the site that allows crazed stalkers no-holds-barred access to your personal life.

Johnson hopes to be deputy PM, hence the crap attempts at credibility and desperate self-promotion. µ
